The best-paid professions still hiring during coronavirus

Following this were the roles of chief executive, data protection solicitor and chief finance officer. There are more than 100 jobs advertised for each of these positions, which pay between £99,000 and £117,000 on average. 

“The need for tighter cybersecurity as more businesses move to remote working means data protection solicitors are highly sought-after,” said Andrew Hunter of Adzuna. 

The remaining jobs within the top 10 for high pay were dominated by roles in technology and the law. Data science directors and corporate lawyers have hundreds of opportunities to choose from, paying on average £90,000. Technical architects, who manage IT programs and systems, can get £76,133 for their skills. 

Demand for skilled medics is high 

Highly trained medical professionals are also still able to command top salaries during lockdown. The average annual pay advertised for consultant paediatricians, general practitioners (GPs) and psychiatrists is around £90,000, £87,000 and £75,000 respectively. GPs have one of the widest ranges of opportunities, with more than 1,000 jobs on offer.
